Fearless Journalism In the Face of Fear

The Butte Examiner continues a centuries long tradition of hard-hitting fact-ridden journalism. Founded by Josias Fallsworth in 1804 in the small town of Black Butte, Oregon, the Butte Examiner has never flinched from speaking the truth or taking hard stances. Proudly apolitical, the Examiner has refrained from endorsing any political candidates in over 200 years, with the regrettable exception of Grover Cleveland in 1912, four years after his death.
The journals motive remains the same as the day Josias Fallsworth won his printing press by cheating at poker: Numquam sinas timorem lucro obstare.
